Collar Measuring Guide
How to measure your dogs collar size
Not sure what size to order? Taking measurements for your dogs new collar is easy and takes just a few minutes. A soft tape measure works best but you can also use a length of string and a long ruler. Follow the simple steps below for a perfect fit.
FAQ: What about the buckle?
Don’t worry, I will factor this in when making the collar. Just provide the size of your dogs neck (in inches) and I’ll take care of the rest.
Paracord dog collars
Paracord is sold by the ft measurement, I therefore ask for all sizes in inches. Half sizes are no problem, just specify this in the box when placing your order. (So, if your dog’s neck size is 16 and 1/2 inches, select the medium size order and enter 16.5″ in the text box.) Prices are grouped into the following size brackets:
Small: up to 13″
Medium: 4″ – 17″
Large: 18″-21″
X Large: 22″ and above
My paracord dog collars are handmade to measure with a side release buckle and are not adjustable. I therefore don’t recommend these collars for puppies as they grow so fast! You may find my adjustable biothane collars a better choice.
Biothane dog collars
My biothane collars are handmade with a roller buckle allowing for an adjustable, flexible fit. Like my paracord collars, a bespoke service is available and more colours can be sourced on request.
